Obituary:

Raymond E. Carr, 78, of Wooster, died peacefully on Sunday, Jan. 1, 2012 at Glendora Health Care Center following a period of declining health.
Ray was born Sept. 1, 1933 in Fredericksburg the son of Albert and Edith (Martin) Carr. He was a 1951 graduate of Fredericksburg High School and served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War from 1951 – 1955. He retired from the Wooster Brush Co. following 25 years of service and had made his home in Wooster since 1977 having previously residing in Fredericksburg. He was a member of Fredericksburg Church of Christ and the Fredericksburg American Legion Post 651. He had enjoyed playing softball, bowling, fishing, mushroom hunting and dancing. In later years he enjoyed watching his favorite game shows, Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy.
He is surviving by his special companion of 30 years Elizabeth “Liss” Proper of Wooster; his four children, Greg (Kathy) Carr, of Massillon, Connie (Doug) Frontz and Jenny Carr both of Wooster and Andi (Jim) Scott of Fredericksburg; 9 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren; his former wife Sharon (Gerig) Carr; brothers Richard (Winnie) Carr of Englewood, FL and Lawrence (Betty) Carr of Fredericksburg; sisters, Joann (Roy) Plant and Linda (Harold) Alexander both of Fredericksburg; nieces and nephews and many special friends. He was preceded in death by 2 sisters, Mary "Peg" Bill and Phyllis Fulton Powell and 3 brothers Albert, Robert and Arthur Carr.
Services will be Thursday at 11:00 a.m. at Murray Funeral Home in Fredericksburg with Kent Adams officiating. Friends may call Wednesday from 4-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be Saturday at Fredericksburg East Cemetery.
