Obituary

Warren W. Peppler, 85, Apple Creek, died Friday, July 23, 2010, at Wooster Community Hospital, after a brief illness.

Warren was born Feb. 10, 1925, in Franklin, Pa., the son of the late Harry A. and Gwendolyn (Bond) Peppler, and graduated from Tuckerton High School in New Jersey. He served in the Merchant Marines and in the U.S. Navy during WW II from 1942-44.

He had been an engineer retiring from Ingram Barge Co. and later retired from Wooster Community Hospital. He had made his home in the Fredericksburg and Apple Creek areas for the past 47 years.

He was a member of Millersburg Grace Brethren Church, and enjoyed transporting Amish, serving others and spending time with his family.

Surviving are children Bonnie (Chuck) Wetzel of Apple Creek and the Rev. David N. (Diana) Peppler Sr. of Powhatan, Va.; grandchildren David Peppler Jr., Nicole Graf, Megan Seder, Derek Peppler and Douglas Peppler; three great-grandchildren; brothers Robert Peppler of Tuckerton, N.J., and Richard Peppler of Cleveland; his former wife, Laurie Michener of Wooster; and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by brothers George, Harry, Wynne and William Peppler.

Services will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Murray Funeral Home in Fredericksburg, with the Rev. Doug Gray and his son the Rev. David Peppler officiating. Burial will be in Fredericksburg East Cemetery.

Friends may call Sunday from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.  Memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society.
