Walter Edward Perry Sr.

December 12, 1937 - October 25, 2017

 

Walter Edward Perry, Sr., 79, of Creston, died Wednesday, Oct. 25, 2017 at LifeCare Hospice in Wooster after a period of declining health. 

Walt was born Dec. 12, 1937 in Creston to the late Clifford and Flossie (Moshier) Perry and married the former Janet Beatrice King on Nov. 2, 1957 and she survives.  He had worked at McIntire Basket Factory, Leslie-Locke Company and retired from Rubbermaid, Inc. after 10 years of service.  He was a member of the Wayne Co. REACT, Medina Co. REACT and the Medina Honey Bees.  Walt enjoyed attending flea markets, auctions, trips to Florida to flea market as well as camping, NASCAR racing and watching the Cleveland Indians. 

Surviving are his wife Janet; children, Walter Jr. (Rozanne) Perry of Waipahu, HI, Roy Perry of Tacoma, WA, Jonathan Perry of Creston, Clara (David) Wolgamott of Burbank, Jean Pittman of Wooster, William Perry of Creston and Kenneth (Melanie) Perry of Creston; 14 grandchildren, Jessie, Loke, Monika, Koshiro, Kenshiro, Linda, Jonny, Michelle, Matthew, Corey, Taylor, Mandy, Tony and Jillian; 14 great-grandchildren, his faithful companion, Petey and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Herman, James, Kenneth, Earl, Harold, Robert and Donald; sisters, Clara Anna and Mary and special friends, Harley Rood and JR Snyder.

Services will be Tuesday, Oct. 31st at 11:00 a.m. at Murray Funeral Home in Creston with Father James Roach and Rev. Don Wolfe officiating.  Burial will be in Creston Maple Mound Cemetery. Friends may call Monday from 5-8 p.m. and one hour prior to services on Tuesday at the funeral home.   Tributes may be shared at www.Murray-Funeral-Home.com  Memorial contributions may be made in  Care of Murray Funeral Home, 173 S.
