Obituary:

CRESTON - Sarah Rickey 91, died Thursday morning, October 6, 2011 at Visiting Nurse Hospice Center in Copley following a period of declining health.

Sarah was born April 7, 1920in Wayne County, WVto the late Booker Lloyd and Mary Elizabeth(Crabtree) Lloyd Thompson. She married Herbert D. Rickeyon August 15, 1936 and they enjoyed 64 wonderful years together before he went home to the Lord on October 24, 2000. While there are tears on earth, there is rejoicing in heaven as" Herb and Sally" are reunited,She had lived in Wadsworth the last 2 years but she and her husband resided in the Creston area for many years previously.

She was a member of the Canaan Free Will Baptist Church where she and her husband loved to worship and serve the Lord. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Her family was her life and her delight.

Surviving are her 6 children, Clyde Rickey,Mary Pelfrey, Robert Darrell (Virginia) Rickey, Ruth (William) Richmond, Larry(Karen) Rickey and Roger (Brenda) Rickey; 10 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters Betty Kitt, Lena Durnka and Jewell Thompson and brother Clifford Thompson.

She was preceded in death by her husband, her twin brother George Lloyd, her sisters Georgia Jarrell and Dixie Starcher.

Funeral services will be Saturday, Oct. 8th at 11:00 a.m. at the Canaan Free Will Baptist Church with the Rev. James R. McComas officiating. Burial will be in Creston Maple Mound Cemetery. Friends may Friday from 5-8 p.m. at Murray Funeral Home in Creston and on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until time of services at the Church.

The family would like to thank all those at the Visiting Nurse Hospice facility in Copley Ohio for their great care and kindness during Sarah's last days.
