Roman M. Yutzy
October 21, 1939 - October 14, 2017
Roman M. Yutzy, 77, of Fredericksburg, passed away peacefully on Saturday, Oct. 14, 2017 at his home. He is off to play golf and fish with Jesus and Heaven is in for a treat with Roman there.
He was born in Millersburg on Oct. 21, 1939 to Mose E. and Anna (Miller) Yutzy. He married Iva Beachy and together they had three children, Marion J. Yutzy of New Philadelphia, Wilma Yutzy of Lafayette, IN and Robert (Julie) Yutzy of New Philadelphia. Roman left the Amish at age 21, worked for Belden Brick and was an owner/operator for Aero Trucking for many years. He divorced after thirteen years of marriage and married Barbara Myers and together they had one daughter, Lori L. (Jody) Beckler of Fredericksburg and her three daughters, Rylee Shoup and Kenzie and Sydnee Beckler. He enjoyed spending time with his granddaughters and was really proud of Rylee, his college girl. Roman loved to golf and fish and he belonged to numerous clubs around the area including the Millersburg Eagles and the Brewster Moose Lodge. He retired from Wayne-Dalton Door on April 1, 2004. Roman was a truck driver at heart who loved to talk about his hauls and was one who led an adventurous life. He never met a stranger and he touched a lot of people with his quick whit, jokes and silliness. He will be deeply missed by all that knew him. In addition to his children and granddaughter, surviving are brothers and sisters, Eli Yutzy of Stockport, Nelson Yutzy, Jacob (Mary) Yutzy, Ivan (Edna) Yutzy and Esther (Reuben Jr.) Miller all of Millersburg and Miriam Miller of Kidron and his uncle, Roman”Shorty” (Fran) Miller of Mount Eaton. Roman, you made us laugh a lot, scratch our heads in wonder, roll our eyes, shake our heads, and left us speechless sometimes. But you were a really nice guy with a big heart!
We wish you peace, joy and lots of friends in heaven.
Fly high, dear friend!
