Robert James Dean, 53, of Creston, died Sunday, January 22, 2012.

Bob was born March 13, 1958 in Wadsworth, the son of Robert L. and Lucy A. (Mayberry) Dean. He was a 1976 graduate of Norwayne High School and served in the U.S. Marine Corp for 6 years. He worked at JLG Industries in Orrville and was a member of Creston Moose Lodge 1224. He enjoyed golfing, reading and caring for and planting flowers at the family home.

Surviving are his parents, Robert and Lucy Dean of Creston, sisters, Alana (Jeff) Hanzie of Creston, Rhonda (Kirk) Carpenter of Wadsworth, Teresa (Edi) Iacuzzi of Ontario, Canada and Lisa Miles of Wexford, PA; step-daughters, Vanessa (Nate) Butcher of Smithville and Amy (Matt) Rettig of Prosperity, SC and their Mother Betty Dean of Wooster; grandchildren, Zachary and Brice Butcher and Ashley and Alyssa Rettig; nieces and nephew, Jessica Leonard, Julia Workman, Angela Carpenter, Anna Carpenter and Matteo Iacuzzi and special friends, Joe, Nikki and Kandi Berry.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 5-8 p.m. at Murray Funeral Home in Creston. Private family services will be held at a later date.
