Robbie L. Hughes Sr., 85, of Burbank, died Friday morning, Nov. 11, 2011 at Burbank Parke following a lengthy illness.

He was born May 11, 1926 in Dunlap, TN the son of the late Johnnie and Mary (Hatfield) Hughes and was married to the former Irene Eckerly. He served in the U.S. Navy 6 years from 1944 – 1950 and had worked in Offshore Drilling and in later years enjoyed setting up at flee markets. He had made his home in Chattanooga, TN having lived in the Creston area the past 10 years.

Surviving are his children Robbie (Cheryl) Hughes Jr. of Graytown, OH, George (Deb) Hughes of Creston and Jeannie (Gary) Vicknair of LaPlace, LA; 10 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren. A daughter Dottie Hughes preceded him in death.

Services will be Monday at 1:00 p.m. at Murray Funeral Home in Creston where friends may call from 11:00 a.m. until time of services. Burial will be at a later date in Tennessee.
