Rita M. Lewis, 60, of Westfield, NC and formerly of Creston, died Monday morning, June 13, 2011 at her home following a brief battle with cancer.

Rita was born in Feb. 3, 1951 in Loretto, PA the daughter of the late Paul and Ethel (Sasway) Plummer. She married Larry Lewis in 1987 and had made her home in Creston before moving to North Caroline five years ago where she worked at Petsense. She enjoyed her flowers, birds and butterflies.

Surviving are her husband Larry; children, Ronald (Susan) Leach of Marshallville, Timothy (Marie) Leach of Wooster and Sheri Fritz of Columbus; step-children, Joe (Melinda) Lewis of Seville; Laurie (Brad) Mueller of Westfield Center and Christine Lance of Lodi; 17 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren; sisters Shirley (Jim) Gorczyca of Spencer, Judith (Michael) Conforte of Land O Lake, FL and Debra (Danny) Riffle of West Salem and a brother Paul (Liz) Plummer of Duncanville, PA. and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a step-son Billy Lewis and a nephews Matthew Gorczyca.

Services will be Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at Murray Funeral Home in Creston with Rev. Jerry Fritz officiating. Burial will be later at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery. Friends may call Friday from 5-8 p.m. a the funeral home. Tributes may be shared at www.Murray-Fuenral-Home.com
