Obituary

Norman L. Pamer, 90, of Stow, died peacefully surrounded by his family on Tuesday, July 11, 2017 at Akron City Hospital.

Norm was born Nov. 3, 1926 in Akron to the late Paul and Anna Smith Pamer and was raised by his aunt and uncle, Rose and Earl Williams.  He graduated from Burbank High School in 1944 and attended Ashland University.  He served in the U.S. Navy during WW II from 1944 – 1946 and on Sept. 11, 1948 he married the former Alice L. Slater who survives.  Norm retired from Medina Auto Parts after 43 years of service and resided in Stow since 1995 having previously resided in Wooster and Lodi where he was a member of the Lodi Masonic Lodge #137 and the former Lodi Gun Club.  Norm  enjoyed doing yard work, fishing and pheasant hunting and was always a car buff.

Surviving are his wife, Alice; daughters and sons-in-law, Ellen and Rod Catalano of Akron and Karen and Richard Hasebein of Stow; grandchildren, Nicholas Hasebein, Jennifer Hasebein; Shawn (Christine) Catalano, Ken (Rita) Catalano, Tim (Jenny) Catalano and Amanda (Jeff) Weitzel and 17 great-grandchildren.  A sister, Mary and brothers, Paul and Elmer preceded him in death.

Private family services will be held at Murray Funeral Home in Creston with interment at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.   Tributes may be shared at www.Murray-Funeral-Home.com
