Maxine Winchell, 91, of Creston, died early Thursday morning, Jan. 14, 2016 at Glendora Health Care Center following a period of declining health.
Maxine was born July 25, 1924 in Shegon, W.Va. to the late Charles and Ruth Fowler Goody and married Clyde W. Winchell on Feb. 22, 1947. He preceded her in death on May 30, 2005. She had made her home in Creston for 65 years and enjoyed quilting, gardening and her cats.
Surviving are her 2 sons, Ray and Linda Winchell of Wooster and Clyde Winchell Jr. and Jean Trubisky of Orrville; 9 grandchildren, Raquel Johnston, Stacy Winchell, Scott Winchell, Annette Miller, Brett Fleming, Adam Winchell, Wayne Winchell, Brandy Baldwin and Cody Winchell; 16 great-grandchildren; a brother, Charles Goody of Marshallville; a sister, Dottie (Edward) Lautenschlager of Wooster and nieces and nephews including Vivian Potts, Larry Goody and Tom Goody who she helped raised.
She was preceded in death by her husband, a son, Arthur Thompson, a grandson, Chad Winchell and a brother Clyde Goody.
At Maxine’s request, family services will be held Sunday at Murray Funeral Home with burial following at Creston Maple Mound Cemetery. Tributes may be shared at www.Murray-Funeral-Home.com
