Mary Frances Davis, 85, of West Salem, died peacefully on Tuesday, Oct. 17, 2017 at Smithville-Western Care Center after a lengthy illness.
Mary was born Feb. 10, 1932 in Branchland, WV to the late Okey and Madonna (Sizemore) Porter and married Lacy K. Davis On May 7, 1941. He preceded her in death on Jan. 16, 1992. She had made her home in Seville prior to moving to West Salem and enjoyed reading her Bible everyday, crocheting and sewing. Mary loved her family and will be greatly missed.
Surviving are her children, Debra Davis of Seville, Billy Davis of Bath, Tammy (John) Marcsik of Hinckley and Amy (Richard) Barr of West Salem;a daughter-in-law, Rose Davis of Seville; 14 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; brothers, Freeman Porter of Arizona, Arby Porter of Florida and Bill Porter of Hinckley and sisters, Doris Meade of West Virginia and Betty McCormick of Coolville, OH.
She was preceded in death by her husband; children, Virginia (Larry) Kincaid, Cathey Davis and Ricky Davis; a daughter-in-law, Debbie Davis; brothers, Oliver and Bennie Lee Porter and infant sister, Katherine.
Services will be Friday, Oct. 20th at 2:00 p.m. at Murray Funeral Home in Creston with Pastor Michael Van Arsdale officiating. Burial will be in Seville Mound Hill Cemetery. Friends may call one hour prior to services on Friday at the funeral home.
