Martin Luther Ruch

Martin Luther Ruch, 76, of Creston, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, Jan. 15, 2017 at Select Specialty Hospital in Canton after a period of declining health.

Marty was born Oct. 29, 1940 in Jim Thorpe, PA to the late Kenneth and Sarah Ruch and graduated from Milton Hershey High School in 1958.  On March 28, 1964 he married the former Lonna Grant who survives and in 1977 he graduated from Midwestern Baptist College in Pontiac, MI.  He pastored several churches over the years and retired as an independent truck driver after 20 years. Marty had made his home in Creston since 1990 having previously resided in Akron and enjoyed football, basketball, baseball and spending time with his family. He was a member of Victory Baptist Church in Lodi.

Surviving are his wife, Lonna; children, Robert Ruch of Kingman, AZ, Michael (Rhoda) Ruch of Burbank and John Ruch of Creston; grandchildren, Autry and Kobe Russell and Arminta and Wyatt Ruch and brothers Kenneth Ruch of New Jersey and Scott Ruch of Souderton, PA.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Leanna Russell in 2004 his parents, a brother David and a infant sister Gertrude.

Service will be Thursday, Jan. 19th at 2:00 p.m. at Murray Funeral Home in Creston with Pastor Joe Williams officiating.  Friends may call from 12:00 noon until time of services.  Tributes may be shared at  Memorials may be made to the family in care of Murray Funeral Home for Martin’s medical expenses.
