Marjorie L. Croft, 86, of East Canton and formerly of Wooster, died Sunday, Aug. 21, 2011 at Aultman Hospital in Canton following a period of declining health.
Marge was born Nov. 27, 1924 in Wayne Twp., Wayne County the daughter of the late Dwight Calvin and Camilla Fern (Bower) Johnson. She was a 1944 graduate of Smithville High School and on June 24, 1944 she married Donald R. Croft. Don preceded her in death on July 6, 1994. She and her husband had operated a dairy farm and she had also worked at Nadelins Restaurant and in the Dietary Dept. of Wooster Community Hospital and Smithville Western Care Center. She was a member of Wayne Presbyterian Church where she held various offices and had been the youth advisor for 25 years. She was a member of the Gideon’s Auxiliary and had a great love for animals, gardening, flowers and her grandchildren. She had made her home in East Canton for the past 8 years.
She will be greatly miss by her children Wilma (Eugene) Wilson of Wooster, Calvin (Becky) Croft of Creston and Donna Arbogast of East Canton; foster son Clarence (Jo) Miller of Orrville; 9 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren; brother Robert (Mary) Johnson of Wooster; sister Mary Jane (Richard) Hahn of Smithville and sister-in-law Joyce Johnson of Tampa, FL.
She was preceded in death by her husband, a son-in-law Ronald Arbogast and a brother Roger Johnson.
Services will be Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. at Wayne Presbyterian Church with Rev. Dr. Robert Meyer officiating Burial will be in the Church Cemetery. Friends may call Tuesday (tonight) from 5-8 p.m. at Murray Funeral Home in Creston. Tributes may be shared at
