Marilyn Walton

Marilyn Winifred Walton

October 30, 1933 - February 18, 2016

Marilyn Winifred Walton, 82, of Fredericksburg, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, Feb. 18, 2016 at her home that she had made with her daughter and son-in-law, Val and Jay Haver for the past 21 years.
Marilyn was born Oct. 30, 1933 in Massillon to the late Arthur and Margaret (Fluhart) Hoffer and was a 1951 graduate of Fredericksburg High School.  On April 12, 1953 she married Ronald D. Walton and he preceded her in death on Oct. 9, 1979.  Marilyn retired from Bell & Howell and had made her home in Fredericksburg most of her life where she was an active member of the Fredericksburg Presbyterian Church having served as a Deacon.  She loved being a part of the church family, attending Women’s Bible Study and church softball games on Friday evenings.  Marilyn’s greatest love was her Lord and Savior.  She considered her children and grandchildren her greatest blessings and cherished every moment with them.  A garage sale, a shopping trip or a lunch date at Lem’s with friends was always full of fun and enjoyment.  Marilyn will be greatly missed.
Surviving are her four children, Craig Walton of Wooster, Kevin (Mel) Walton of Smithville, Barry (Deb) Walton of Overton and Val (Jay) Haver of Fredericksburg; her eight grandchildren, Brandon (Liz) Walton, Brittany (Jakob) Beier, Moriah (Dustin) Steiner, Hannah (Sean) Miller, Isaac (Shekinah) Haver, Marla Walton, Alex Walton and Owen Walton and her six great-grandchildren, Caden Begly, Micah Begly, Addalyn Walton, Lincoln Walton, Gracie Steiner and Lillian Steiner.
Marilyn was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, a brother Donald Hoffer and an infant sister Marjean.
Services will be Monday at 11:00 a.m. at Fredericksburg Presbyterian Church with Pastors Jack McClelland and Darcy Miller officiating.  Burial will be in Fredericksburg East Cemetery.  Friends may call Sunday from 2-5 p.m. at Murray Funeral Home in Fredericksburg.  Tributes may be shared at  Memorials may be made to the Fredericksburg Presbyterian Church Building Fund, PO Box 259, Fredericksburg, OH 44627.  The family extends their sincere thanks and appreciation to staff of LifeCare Hospice for their wonderful care and support.  Your kindness will always be remembered.
