Lynn Denise West
December 11, 1954 - February 20, 2018
Lynn Denise West, 63, of Creston, died peacefully in her home, surrounded by her family, on Tuesday, Feb. 20, 2018.
Lynn was born Dec. 11, 1954 in Massillon to the late Franklin and Jacqueline (Wolfe) Stockham and was a 1973 graduate of Dalton High School where she was active in the band and was a majorette. On Oct. 20, 1973 she married Terry West and together they built a life for their children and grandchildren filled with love. For 18 years Lynn worked in the Plant Pathology Dept. at the OARDC and had made her home in Creston for the past 12 years having previously resided in Dalton. She enjoyed gardening and working in her yard, feeding the birds and watching her hummingbirds. Lynn’s greatest love was for her children and her grandchildren and she enjoyed attending through the years all their school activities and sporting events. She will be remembered for being a loving wife, mother and grandmother who always put her family first.
Surviving are her husband, Terry; her children and their spouses, Jennifer and Jeremy Bradford of Wellington and Brian and Julie West of Burbank; her much loved grandchildren, Jared and Jordan Bradford and Braden and Bryce West; her sister and brother-in-law, Janelle and Dan Ianniello and their son Joseph of Orange County, CA and a brother Tedd Stockham of Leesburg, FL.
Memorial services will be Monday; Feb. 26that 11:00 a.m. at North Winds Church, 8691 Easton Rd., West Salem with Pastor Dave Purdy officiating. Burial will be private for the family at Dalton Cemetery. Friends may call Sunday from 3-6 p.m. at Murray Funeral Home in Creston. Lynn was part of the administrative team during the time that I was chairperson of the Dept. of Plant Pathology at the OARDC in Wooster. Following my retirement, she continued in that role to the present time. Lynn was always very dedicated and did an excellent job with all her work.
