Linda Kay Walters

December 7, 1947 - April 21, 2016

Linda Kay Walters, 68, of Creston, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, April 21, 2016 at Barberton Citizens Hospital.

Linda was born Dec. 7, 1947 in Canton to the late Otto and Rosemary (Friel) Schroeter.  She married Terrance G. Walters on Feb. 16, 1980 and together they had 36 wonderful years together.  She graduated from Canton South High School and retried from Frito Lay having previously worked for the City of Wooster.  She had made her home in Creston since 1980 and was a member of the New Hope Christian Church in Creston and the Women In Touch ladies group.  Known as the church Christmas cookie lady in the community, she was involved in the live Nativity Scene on the square in Creston at Christmas.  Linda enjoyed camping, fishing, being outdoors, sewing and target shooting but her greatest love was being with her grandchildren.

Surviving are her husband, Terry; children, Lauren (Jim) Naiman of Tallmadge, Allisia (Jeff) Brownlee of Salem, Frank (Andrea) Walters of Louisville, Terra (James) Dorn of Sterling and Kasey (Kristina) Walters of Medina; 15 grandchildren; one great-grandchild and a brother, Richard (Teresa) Schroeter of Portage Lakes.  She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Naomi and a infant grandson, Glenn Dorn.

A celebration of Linda’s life will be held Saturday, May 7th at the home of Terra and James Dorn, 8036 Fox Lake Rd., Sterling, OH.  Friends are welcome to come anytime after 1:00 p.m. and throughout the day and evening.  Memorial contributions may be made to New Hope Christian Church, 174 S. Main St., Creston, OH 44217

Heaven gained an angel! She was always loving and kind. Always a hug and a kiss on the cheek when I saw her. I miss her very much. Her and Terry were my second set of parents growing up and always had open arms for the stragglers (the extra teens-myself included) that came along. Thank you Lauren for always sharing your parents!
