Linda Alexander

Linda M. Alexander

September 23, 1941 - July 3, 2017

A couple more years would have been nice but, not meant to be. Oh well!  I, Linda, died peacefully at my home in Fredericksburg surrounded by a wonderful family on Monday, July 3, 2017  after a 10 month illness.  I was told at the beginning that I had 4 – 6 months and for all that knew me, I added the 4 with the 6 and lived 10.  I did it my way!

Linda said, “I’ve done lots of things, been lots of places and even managed to live with Harold for over 50 years.  Together we had two great sons, Bill Alexander and Kelly Alexander.  Kelly and his wife Laura blessed us with three granddaughters, the triplets; Katherine, Alicia and Nicole.  In my eyes, they are almost perfect which is a Grandma’s privilege to say, but it is really true.  I loved being able to enjoy them many weekends and enjoyed the troops that they brought with them from college.

Together Harold and I owned the Horse n Harness Pub in Fredericksburg for over 25 years where we met a lot of terrific people.  I didn’t always love the work involved, but truly enjoyed the customers.  We had many great employees also.

My parents, Albert and Edith (Martin) Carr; brothers and sisters, Betty Bill, Albert Jr., Robert, Lawrence “Chesty”, Ray, Art, Phyllis Fulton and Jo Plant preceded me in death as did Harold.  My only brother, Rich Carr survives along with my many nieces and nephews, way too many to mention.  The ladies at the coffee shop will miss me and the newspaper and the Friday afternoon break time bunch better also miss me!”

There a memorial service on Saturday, July 8th at 11:30 a.m. at Murray Funeral Home in Fredericksburg with Darcy “I think that’s her name” Miller, the associate pastor at Fredericksburg Presbyterian Church officiating.  A meal will follow at the Fredericksburg American Legion.  I won’t be there, so enjoy!  Burial will be private at Fredericksburg East Cemetery.  Contributions may be made to the Fredericksburg Library, a neat little place operated by great volunteers, 108 S. Mill St., Fredericksburg, OH or to the Fredericksburg Fire Dept. 288 N. Mill St., Fredericksburg, OH 44627.

Thankfully, Linda and I have spoken frequently in the past couple of years. We will always remember her way to get a smile out of everyone she knew. She worked hard, loved her family and lived life to the fullest. She was so proud of her boys! Rest in peace, my friend and cousin
