Lillian J. Reed, 80, of Wooster passed away peacefully on Saturday morning, May 7, 2016, surrounded by family and friends after suffering a stroke on Wednesday evening.
Lillian was born Jan. 3, 1936 in Chicago, IL to the late Frank and Josephine (Kamowski) Kuffel and spent her early years in Illinois where she married Richard Pease who preceded her in death. Together they had three sons, Richard Pease of Wooster, Randell (Mary) Pease of Dunedin, FL and Robert Pease in Afghanistan. She later married Fred Frantz who also died previously and they had a daughter, Sandra (Rex) Gasser of Sterling. In 1977 she married Kenneth Reed and he preceded her in death in 1994.
Surviving in addition to her children are 6 grandchildren, Randall Pease, Amanda Pease and Richard Pease all of Florida; Ryan Gasser of Wooster, Airman Bryce Gasser of Eglin AFB in Florida and Austin Gasser of Lansing, MI. Also surviving are step-children, Fred Frantz of Lake in the Hills, IL, Phil Frantz of Crystal Lake, IL and Renee Gerlach of Sweet Home, OR; step-grandchildren, Nathan (Julie) Reed of Hubert, NC, Christopher Reed of Sweet Home, OR, Lindsay Walter of Phoenix and Ashley and Kendallyn Frantz of Crystal Lake, IL; two step-great-grandchildren, Jocelyn and Madilyn Reed of Hubert, NC and a sister, Shirley Gil of Gray’s Lake, IL.
She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Frank Kuffel, Richard Kuffel , Kenneth Kuffel, Lorraine Ceicko and Phyllis Morrdian.
Lillian was a loving mother, grandmother and friend to many people and will be deeply missed. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.
Friends may call Wednesday from 5-7 p.m. at Murray Funeral Home in Creston where Rev. Brandon Steele will conduct services immediately following at 7:00 p.m.
Memorials contributions may be made to Wooster Township Fire Dept., 1917 Millersburg Rd., Wooster, OH 44691 who graciously transported Lillian to Akron General Hospital from Wooster Community Hospital during her illness.
