Kenneth E. Batley, 76, of Creston, died Tuesday, Jan. 31, 2012 at Hospice of Medina County  Inpatient Care Center following a lengthy illness.

Ken was born June 21, 1935 in Sterling the son of the late William and Georgia (Feesler) Batley and he married Bernice McDonald on Nov. 11, 1955. She preceded him in death on Sept. 12, 2007. He retired from Morton Salt in 1997 with 31 years of service and had been a member of the Wadsworth Eagles and Creston Moose Lodge. He had enjoyed car racing, music and dancing and playing Keno.

Surviving are his 3 children, Diane (Darold Matheny) Batley of Wadsworth, Dennis (Patti) Batley of Kenmore and Denise (Brad Dearth) Batley of Ashland; 8 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters, Dorothy (Jim) Ramsier of Sterling and Donna (Roy) Nussbaum of Wooster; brother-in-law, Donnie (Sue) Danley , nieces and nephews and special friends, Greg and Sue Wellman and Bob Carpenter.

Services will be Friday at 11:00 a.m. at Murray Funeral Home in Creston where friends may call Thursday from 5-8 p.m. Burial will be in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.
