Judith Ann Pittman Holmes, 58, of Wooster was surrounded by friends and family at the Wooster Community Hospital on Friday, August 18, 2017, when she went peacefully to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ after a 6-month battle with cancer.
Judi was born July 19, 1959, in Wadsworth to Starling and Roberta Marcum Pittman and grew up in Canaan. She was a 1977 graduate of Norwayne High School and the Wayne Co. Schools Career Center and married Donald M. “Monie” Holmes on Aug. 3, 1978, who survives. Judi received her Business Degree from The University of Akron Wayne College and had been the business manager for Country Acres of Wayne Co. She had been active in the Kidron Community prior to moving to Wooster where she organized block parties, gatherings and her patio friends. Judi loved the Lord Jesus and was an active member of Wooster Grace Church where she was involved in various Bible studies and where she and Monie were leaders of the Journey of Faith Adult Bible Fellowship. She was always involved in teaching, singing, and music ministries at Grace Church and at West Hill Baptist Church where she previously attended. Judi will be remembered for her gracious hospitality, radiant smile, and her nurturing investments into the lives and souls of family and friends.
Surviving are her husband, Monie; sons, Aaron M. (Melodie) Holmes of New Philadelphia and Alex M. Holmes of Akron; grandchildren, Tawnie, Brantley and Rylie; her parents, Starling and Roberta Pittman of Canaan; sisters, Jacquie (Roy) Adams of Wooster and Lavonne (Curt) Stauffer of Shreve; brother, John (Casey) Pittman of Norton and nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
Services will be Saturday, August 26, at 11:00 a.m. at Grace Church where friends may call Friday, Aug. 25, from 4-8 and one hour prior to services at the church. Burial will be in Canaan Cemetery. Tributes may be shared at www.Murray-Funeral-Home.com. Memorial contributions may be made in Judi’s memory in care of Grace Church, 4599 Burbank Rd., Wooster, Ohio 44691 which will be used for Asia’s Hope to benefit orphans in Asia or to Journey of Faith ABF which were both dear ministries to Judi. Remember to live, laugh and love.

Judi was one of those special people who allowed Jesus to shine through her life in a way that is seldom seen. I treasure every meeting we've had over the years and look forward to the time we meet again in God's presence for we do not sorrow as those who have no hope.
Mrs Holmes was a lovely hearted woman. She was a wonderful woman of God and she loved God with all her heart. I remember her as an aunty to me and she has been a wonderful person to me and my family.
I am blessed to have known such a special person! I have very fond memories from spending time with Judi when her and Moni graciously opened their home to us during our visit to Ohio. We both wished we lived closer so we could spend more time together - we will do that in heaven one day, where I know Judi is already at peace in the presence of our Lord whom she showed love for in the way she lived her life.
