Joseph J. Lloyd, 83 of Seville, lost his battle to multiple myeloma on Saturday, Feb. 3, 2018. Joe passed peacefully at home.
He was born in Akron Ohio on Oct. 23 1934 to the late Dan and Rose (Jastrzbeska) Lloyd and served 8 years in the U.S. Navy Reserves where he was a 2nd Class Petty Officer. Joe had a love for his farm, Lloyd’s Little Farm, milking dairy cows until he switched to raising Herefords in the 1990’s. He also spent many years as an ambulance driver and fireman for Seville Fire and EMS and retired in 2002 from Guilford Township as the roads supervisor. Joe had also been a school bus driver for Cloverleaf Schools prior to working for Guilford Twp.
Joe is survived by his wife Betty Collins Lloyd whom he has been married to since 1955; his sons, Daniel W. Lloyd of Seville and Edward (Fonda) Lloyd of Houston, TX; daughter-in-law, Karen Lloyd of Seville; grandchildren, Daniel J. Lloyd of Wooster, Emily (Andrew) Schmidt of Apple Creek, OH and Brody, Brock, Brennen and Jozie Lloyd all of Seville and six step-grandchildren. He is also survives by a brother, Walt (Corrine) Lloyd of Seville. He is preceded in death by his son, Robert E. Lloyd whom he can now farm many acres in perfect weather conditions.
