Obituary:

WOOSTER - John M. Pamer, 89, loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, passed away on Sunday evening, Oct. 9, 2011 following a period of failing health.
John was born March 14, 1922 in Greentown, the son of the late Adam W. and Mary (Herzog) Pamer and was a 1940 graduate of Burbank High School. On June 3, 1941 he married Gloria Reed and she survives. He began his career farming in Medina and Wayne Counties and supplying wood to the paper mill in Avery. He later became an appliance salesman at Sears in Wooster. He spent 12 years as one of the top sales leaders with what was then the Lutheran Mutual Life Insurance Co. where he retired from in 1980. He enjoyed making well crafted wooden toys and antique cars. His work was well-know and buyers from as far away as Germany enjoyed his work. He also enjoyed playing shuffle board. He was an active member of Canaan Lutheran Church and the Gideons International.
Surviving are his wife Gloria; his daughter Dorotha (David) Fuhrman of Westerville; his son John (Cheryl) Pamer of Burbank; 5 granddaughters, Laura (Roberto) Casline of Westerville, Lisa (Monti) Piccioni of Lewis Center, Courtney (Vince) Hartzler of Polk, Amy (John) Mallery of Mansfield and Kathryn Pamer of Okeechobee, FL; 8 great-grandchildren; a sister Helen Agnone of Louisville; 3 brothers, James Pamer of North Carolina, Richard (Diane) Pamer of Creston and Edward (Carol) Pamer of Seville; 2 sisters-in-law, Eleanor Pamer of Ashland and Janet Pamer of Creston and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by brothers Adam and Eugene Pamer and sisters Rosemary Daum and Betty Nieman.
Funeral services will be Thursday at 11:00 a.m. at Canaan Lutheran Church with Pastor Paul Thoms officiating. Burial will be in the Church Cemetery. Friends may call Wednesday from 5-8 p.m at Murray Funeral Home in Creston.  Memorials may be made to Canaan Lutheran Church, 10851 Friendsville Rd., Creston, OH 44217.
