James Warren King
November 4, 1951 - December 12, 2017
James Warren King, 66, of Lodi, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, Dec. 12, 2017 at LifeCare Hospice in Wooster after a brief illness.
Jim was born Nov. 4, 1951 in Springfield, OH to the late Warren and Mary Alice (Little) King and had attended Medina High School. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War from 1970 – 1972 and had worked at Friction Products for 18 years and later he and his wife worked as a team, driving truck. On March 1, 1999 he married Mary M. (Gene) Leslie and together they made his home in Lodi having previously resided in Medina where he served at a volunteer fire fighter for Medina City for 10 years. Jim was a member of the Medina V.F.W. Post and served as a scorekeeper for the Stark Lighting Youth Baseball Team. He enjoyed drag racing, playing golf, target shooting and watching youth sporting events. Jim was a dog lover and will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Surviving are his wife, Mary (Gene); children, Michelle Cochran of Trenton, OH, James (Lisa) Weaver of Middletown, Nick (Laura) Weaver of Norton and Joe (Denette) Weaver of Seville; 11 grandchildren, Ricky, Zach (Abby), Abbey, Andy, Caleb, Bailey, Cayden, Luke, Cayden, Paige and Cami; brothers and sister, Richard (Cathy) King, Linda (Robert) Ulich and Kathy (Rick) Pethtel all of Medina and Doug (Robin) King of Creston and nieces and nephews.
Services will be Monday, Dec. 18th at 1:00 p.m. at Murray Funeral Home in Creston where friends may call Sunday, from 2-5 p.m. Burial will be in Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made in care of Murray Funeral Home, 173 S. Main St., Creston, OH 44217 to help with final expenses
