Jackson C. Murray, 75, of Marshallville formerly of Creston, died peacefully on Monday, Oct. 3, 2011 at Hospice at the Inn in Medina following a lengthy illness.
Jack was born April 1, 1936 in Ashland, Kentucky the son of the late Ira and Ruth (Havens) Murray. He was raised in the Kenova, WV area and attended Buffalo High School. On Sept. 7, 1955 he married Brady Terry and she survives. He retired from the Packaging Corp. of American in Rittman in 2000 and had made his home on Steiner Road in Creston for 48 years until moving to Marshallville this past year. He was a member of the Rittman Moose Lodge and was a member and Past President of the Farmers Sportsman’s Club in Canaan. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.
He will be greatly missed by his wife Brady; his daughter and son-in-law Beverly and Dwight Hartzler of Marshallville his grandson Nolan and Stephanie Hartzler and great-granddaughters Mackenzie and Maddison of Marshallville and granddaughter Jackie Hartzler of Rittman; 2 brothers Sam Murray of Nashville, TN and Leslie Murray of Kenova, WV and two sisters Joyce Ashworth of Nashville, TN and Laura Perry of Kenova, WV.
He was preceded in death by a brother Clyde Murray and a sister Naomi Massie.
Services will be Thursday at 11:00 a.m. at Murray Funeral Home in Creston with Pastor Tim Lehman officiating. Burial will be in Canaan Cemetery. Friends may call Wednesday from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Tributes may be shared at
