Helen C. Litman, 75, formerly  of Creston, died Sunday, August 7, 2011 at Autumnwood Health Care Center in Rittman following a lengthy illness.

She was born Aug. 14, 1935 in Smithville the daughter of Walter and Anna (Fecher) Ammon. She had worked at the former McIntire Basket Factory in Creston for 37 years and loved to sew, quilt and crochet. She was affectionately known as Grandma Kitty.

Surviving are her three daughters, Cheryl Covey of Canvas, W.Va., Linda (Ray) Troyer of Apple Creek and Kathy (Bill) Sayers of Wadsworth; 8 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; 3 brothers, Walter (Janet) Ammon of Seville, Roger Ammon of Smithville and Richard (Joyce) Ammon of West Salem and 3 sisters, Pearl (Willie) Morrison of Wooster, Louise (Earnest) Ferguson of Creston and Dorothy (Larry) Booth of Wooster. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother Howard and a sister Twyla Dyck.

Private family services will be held. Murray Funeral Home in Creston is handling arrangements.
