Obituary:
Hazel Rugh, 92, passed away on February 20, 2011 after a period of declining health. She had been a resident of West View Manor Towne Square for the past four and a half years.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Church of the Cross United Methodist on Friday, Feb. 25, at 2:00 p.m. The family will receive guests following the service. Private burial services will be a Jackson Cemetery. Murray Funeral Home in Creston is handling arrangements. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent to Hospice and Palliative Care of Greater Wayne Co., 2525 Back Orrville Rd., Wooster, OH 44691.

She married Howard Rugh on May 16, 1940 in Alliance by the Rev. Lorin Carmony, her uncle. They celebrated 67 years together. Howard died July 2007.
Hazel graduated from Smithville High School and Wooster Business College. She worked at The Gerstenslager Company in her early years. She spent most of life on the family farm attending to the garden, canning and candling and packing eggs. She and Howard maintained a chicken business of 30,000 laying hens supplying area grocery stores and egg processing plants.
Hazel was a lifetime and active member of Church of the Cross United Methodist in Madisonburg where she was pianist and organist for over fifty years. She was involved with United Methodist Women, church and community Bible studies and the Creston Book and Music Club. She was also a member of Gideons International Auxiliary. She loved her flower gardens and submitted many flower arrangements to the Wayne County Fair. Most of all, she loved being with her family.
Hazel is survived by three children; Joyce (Joe) Miller of Marion, Dean (Jane) Rugh of Dayton and Miriam (Buddy) Davisson of Wooster. She has four grandsons: David (Krista) Miller, Timothy (Denise) Miller, Jon Davisson and Zohn (Liz) Zimmer and six great-grandchildren.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and a brother Lloyd Carmony.
