Harold E. Kollert, 78, of Creston, died unexpectedly at his home on Wednesday, Feb. 16, 2011  following a brief illness.

Harold was born March 25, 1932 in Sterling the son of the late Ora and Katherine Kollert.  He attended Doylestown High School and retired from Yellow Freight in 1999.  Following retirement he operated his own Lawn and Landscaping Service.    He attended Canaan Lutheran Church and was a former member of Chippewa Valley Sun Downers Horse Club.  He loved horses, mules and tractors and enjoyed being in area parades with his tractors and animals.  He worked the polls for the Wayne County Board of Elections and had enjoyed traveling.  He had made his home near Creston since 1999.

He will be greatly missed by his wife,  Patricia whom he married Oct. 16, 2001; his daughters, Debbi Faber of Trabuco Cannon, CA and Victoria Kollert of Dublin, OH; a grandson and pride of his life Brandon Faber of Laguna Beach, CA; sisters Beverly Artrip, Elaine Artrip and Linda (Robert) Gray all of Wooster; brothers Richard Kollert of Rittman and Donald Kollert of Wooster; sister-in-law June Barrett of Frederick, MD and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his first wife Mary (Mercer) Kollert on Aug. 6, 1995 and a sister Maybelle Strickland in 2003.
