Obituary:

Harold D Carter, 86, of Lodi, died peacefully on Tuesday, Dec. 20, 2011 at Autumnwood Health Care Center in Rittman.
Harold was born Aug. 24, 1925 in Creston the son of the late Harold E. “Jim” and Bernice (Jeter) Carter. He married Mary Louise Ferguson on Sept. 9, 1944 and she survives. He was a 1943 graduate of Creston High School, and graduated from Ohio Peace Officers Academy, Relators Institute and Akron University. He served in the U.S. Army Signal Corp from 1946 – 1947. He retired as a Major from the Medina Co. Sheriffs Dept. and had also worked as an Arson Investigator for the State of Ohio and was a Real Estate Agent. He was a member of Our Lady of Help Christian Church, Seville Masonic Lodge #74 F.&A.M., York Scottish Rite, Medina Amateur Radio Club and Lodi American Legion Post. He had also served in the Civil Air Patrol for 18 years. He had made his home in Lodi since 1977 and had previously resided in Chippewa Lake.
Surviving are his wife Mary, children, Daniel (Kathryn) Carter of Chatham, Barbara (Leon) Bell of Titusville, FL and Regina (Terry) Muich of Seville; daughter-in-law Barbara Jean Carter of Titusville, 10 grandchildren, 16 Great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son Michael in 2011 and a sister Jean Lance.
Services will be Friday at 7:00 p.m. at Murray Funeral Home in Creston where friends may call from 4:00 until time of services.
