Gregory Carroll Tanner

Gregory Carroll Tanner, 64, of Creston, died unexpected at his home on Thursday evening, Aug. 2, 2018.
Greg was born May 29, 1954 in Calhoun County, W.Va. to the late William and Vena Evelyn (Jarvis) Tanner and had been an area resident for the past 40 years. He retired from Envision Waste in 2014 and enjoyed camping, fishing and spending time with his grandkids.
Surviving are his wife of 46 years, Betty (McCune) Tanner , children, Pam Yost (Earnest McCune) of Sterling, Kathy (Tim) Hamilton of Norton and Jonathon (Amber) Tanner of Sterling; his grandchildren, Keri Yost, Brian Yost, Tim (Kayla) Cyrus, Skyler Tanner and Jonathon Tanner; great-granddaughter, Jayden McCray; brother, Richard “Jack” Tanner and William “Billy” Tanner; sisters, Donnie Moore, Zelma Long, Patricia “Sue” Armstead, Martha Copley and Hope Nelson; brother-in-law and friend, Alvie McCune and Pauline Moats who cared for him and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Anna “Dude” Greathouse and Helen McCune and brothers, Shirley Tanner, Alton “Doc” Tanner, Dwight “Doy” Tanner, Jeffery Tanner and infants, Johnny, Andy and Glen Tanner.
Services will be Thursday, August 9that 2:00 p.m. at Murray Funeral Home in Creston with burial following in Creston Maple Mound Cemetery. Friends may call from 12:00 noon until time of services at 2:00 p.m. Tributes may be shared at www.Murray-Funeral-Home.com
