Obituary:

Gerald Eugene Walters, Sr., 78, of Burbank died peacefully on Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2018 at Wooster Community Hospital after an extended illness.

He was born May 31, 1940 in Wadsworth to the late Forrest and Evelyn (Raker) Walters and married the former Betty J. Brubaker on Sept. 2, 1958.  Together they recently celebrate 60 years of marriage.  Gerald retired in 1995 from International Paper in Wooster after 37 years of service and had made his home in Burbank most of his life.  He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and enjoyed working on cars and model cars, word search puzzles and visits to Harbor Freight. 

Surviving are his wife, Betty; children, Roxanne (Bill) Edison of Burbank, Jerry (Marilyn) Walters of Wooster, Terry (Tina) Walters of Creston and Shaan Shadley of Galion; 9 grandchildren, Rodney, Gerald, Terry, Jamie, Jessica, Tiffany, Terra, Brandon and Cameron; 10 great-grandchildren with a new baby on the way; brothers and sisters, Robert (Romayne) Walters of Massillon, Forrest “Junior” (Debbie) Walters of Bellaire, GA, Marjorie Walters of Newella, OK, and Juanita James, Josie (Keith) Huggins and Mary (Mitch) Malcomb all of Jewett and nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents, a granddaughter, Carla Rose; and brothers and sisters, Lewis Walter, Danny Ray Walter, Darlene Thacker, Bonnie Post, Kathy Wilda and Suzanne Conover.

Services will be Saturday, Dec. 22ndat 12:00 noon at Murray Funeral Home in Creston with Pastor Lori Burdette-Steele officiating.  Friends may call from 10:00 until time of services at noon.  A family burial will be held later at Burbank Cemetery.  Tributes may be shared at www.Murray-Funeral-Home.com  Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
