Francis Oren Branch, Jr.

March 19, 1929 - April 23, 2018

Francis Oren “Twig” Branch, Jr., 89 of Lodi, died Monday, April 23, 2018 at Hospice of the Western Reserve in Medina after a period of declining health.

Francis was born March 19, 1929 in Cleveland to Francis O. Sr. and Hazel (Bradley) Branch and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War where he served as a Medic.  He had worked at Standard Oil, in the Cleveland Steel Mills and at Cleveland Welding and Fanner Mfg.  He retired from GMC in Parma in 1991 with 28 years of service.  Francis was a member of Faith United Methodist Church in Burbank, Lodi American Legion Post 523, was a life member of the VFW in Brooklyn; was a member of the Lodi Masonic Lodge #137 F.&A.M. the Harrisville Lodge 6892 and Order of Eastern Star Chapter #137.  He was a member of the Knights of Templar in Wadsworth, the Al Koran Shiner and the Grotto in Brooklyn.  Francis was a sponsor of the National Museum of the U.S. Army and was a founding member of Deerpass in Seville.  He loved golfing, traveling across the county to sight see and family gathers.

Surviving are his wife, the former Donna Reed; children, Tim (Barbara), Suzee and Amy; stepdaughter, Sandra (John) 4 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren as well as nieces, nephews and cousins.  He was preceded in death by his first wife, Eileen Uhlenbecker Branch in 2003, a daughter, Margaret “Peggy” and siblings, William Bildad, Jane and Hazel.

Services will be Tuesday, May 1stat 12:30 p.m. at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery with Pastor Jack Gessic officiating.  There will be no calling hours.  Murray Funeral Home in Creston is handling arrangements.   Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Western Reserve, 5075 Windfall Rd., Medina, OH 44256 or to Faith United Methodist Church, PO Box 127, Burbank, OH 44214.
