Everett Eugene Kauf

January 19, 1937 - January 20, 2019


Everett Eugene Kauf, 82, of Seville, died Sunday, Jan. 20, 2019 at Hospice of Medina after a period of declining health.

Ev was born Jan. 19, 1937 in Mansfield to the late William Raymond and Dorcus (Livingston) Kauf and was a 1955 graduate of Norwayne High School.  He served in the U.S. Army and on Oct. 5, 1957 he married the former Peggy Yoder who preceded him in death on Aug. 7, 1995.  He retired in 1989 from Columbia Gas and later worked as a pipe line inspector.  He was member of Creston Moose Lodge 1224 and the Wadsworth Eagles.  Ev and Peggy enjoyed traveling and taking trips to Las Vegas but his greatest joy was his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Surviving are his children, David (Jane) Kauf of Seville, Deann Grosser of  Chippewa Lake, Daryl (Linda) Kauf of Creston and Dwight (Suzanne) Kauf of Powell; 9 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, brothers, Don (Barb) Kauf of Creston and Bill (Diane) Kauf of Wooster; a sister, LuAnn (Rusty) Locke of Lodi and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Peggy, grandson, Russell “Jake” Kauf and brothers, Russell and John Kauf.

Services will be Thursday, Jan. 24th at 11:00 a.m. at Murray Funeral Home in Creston with Pastor Lori Burdette-Steele officiating. Burial will be in Creston Maple Mound Cemetery.  Friends may call Wednesday from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home.  Tributes may be shared at www.Murray-Funeral-Home.com  Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Medina Co., 5075 Windfall Rd., Medina, OH 44256.

To the Kauf family, I'm so sorry to hear of Everett passing. It's been too many years since I last saw him and the rest of you at Penny's calling hours. I know he will be missed and I wish you all the best.

I knew Ev from The Cloverleaf Rec Ctr.  We had many enjoyable conversations about his career in the gas company.
 Always a fun guy to chat with.  My condolences to the family.  RIP Ev.....
