Obituary:
Ernestine Wilson Sparks, 66, of Apple Creek, died peacefully surrounded by her family on Saturday, May 15, 2010 at her home following a lengthy illness.
Services will be Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. at Murray Funeral Home in Fredericksburg with Rev. Bruce Sparks officiating. Burial will be in Crown Hill Cemetery in Orrville. Friends may call Monday from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Ernestine was born Feb. 12, 1944 in Beards Fork, W.Va. the daughter of the late Cecil and Gussie (Ward) Blair. She married Alonzo Wilson on May 18, 1963 and he preceded her in death on April 13, 2000. On July 31, 2000 she married Douglas Sparks and he survives. She retired from Smuckers in Orrville following 39 years of service and was a member of the Good News Baptist Church in Smithville. She had made her home in Orrville for 45 years and enjoyed sing in church and at area nursing homes.
She is survived by her husband Doug, daughters Lisa (Harold) Brown of Grove Port and Lelia Wilson of Burbank; step-children Bruce (Melissa) Sparks of Creston, Rhonda (Bill) Pomeroy of Rittman and Gregory (Dianne) Sparks of Orrville; grandchildren Hunter and Hailey Brown, Sarah, Rachel, Grace and Lorynn Sparks, Chelsea Pomeroy, Scott and Alan Bostick and Lauren Walker; ; special nieces and nephew Jessica and Ashley Ross and Jeffrey Harper; brothers; Kermit Blair of Summersville, W.Va., Kenneth (Sheila) Blair of Danese, W.Va., Prentiss Blair of Summersville, W.Va., James (Hazel) Blair, Jonesville, Va. and Jerry Blair of Edmond, W.Va.; Sisters, Bettie (Jim) Fisher of Trinity, NC, Brenda (Joe) Sheffer, Waynesboro, Va. and Sandy (Ronnie) Toney of Jonesville, VA many nieces and nephews and her faithful companion Will; Brothers Herman, Larry and Tom and a sister Kathy died previously.
