Obituary:

Edward Siladi, 77 of Smithville was called home to his Heavenly Kingdom on Thursday, Sept. 20, 2018.  He passed away at Wooster Community Hospital following a brief illness.

Ed was born Jan. 15, 1941 in Barberton and was the son of the late George and Frances (Judd) Siladi who immigrated from Yugoslavia.  On Dec. 12, 1964 he married his wife, Diana Sue (Bratcher) Siladi and together they had made their home in Smithville.  He retired from the PCA in Rittman after 44 years where he was an electrician and had operated the Dora Lee Dairyette in Smithville for a number of years.  He loved to restore old tractors, go to auctions with his friends and he loved attending every county fair including the Wayne County Fair where he could be found working the ticket gate.  Ed loved coaching his son’s baseball leagues for many years and enjoyed country music.  He was a member of the Smithville Ruritan Club and is remembered for being able to make or fix anything.  As the youngest of 5 children, he was preceded in death by his brothers, George Siladi of Arizona, Louis Siladi of Barberton, Albert Siladi of Doylestown and his sister, Cilestine “Goldie” Siladi of Doylestown.  Surviving are his wife, Diana Sue; his children and their spouses, Kim and Kelly Rehm and Ron and Brenda Siladi and a host of family and friends.

Services will be Sunday, Sept. 23rd at 1:30 p.m. at Murray Funeral Home in Creston with Rev. Jeff Ball officiating.  Burial will be in Sherwood Memorial Gardens.  Friends may call Saturday from 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home.  Tributes may be shared at www.Murray-Funeral-Home.com   In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be  made to the Smithville Ruritan Club, PO Box 98, Smithville, OH 44677 or to the Wayne County Humane Society, 1161 Mechanicsburg Rd., Wooster, OH 44691 where he found his best friend, Molly who survives.  Ed brought a smile to everyone he spoke to and will be deeply missed by his family and friends for he touched the lives of so many.
