September 28, 1959 - May 11, 2017
Celebration of Edith’s life, Saturday, June 3rd from 2-5 p.m. in the Polaris Room at Quest Conference Center, 8405 Pulsar Place, Columbus, OH 43240.
Edith Mae Fetzer, 57, of New Albany, OH met Jesus face to face on Thursday, May 11, 2017 at her home. She battled Juvenile Type 1 diabetes most of her life.
Edith was born Sept. 28, 1959 in Wooster, OH to the late Robert E. and Rachel (Walter) Fetzer, and was a 1978 graduate of Triway High School. She graduated from The Ohio State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing and later received her MBA from the University of Hartford, Barney School of Business. She lived in the Boston, MA area and in West Hartford, CT prior to moving back to the Columbus, OH area. Edith worked over the years as a registered nurse, primarily as a wound care clinical specialist, having worked at Gentell, Inc. where she provided wound care education in skilled nursing facilities. Her career also included Galaxy Medical Products, where she was Manager of Clinical Services, and Joerns Healthcare, Inc. where she was a Clinical Account Manager. She was affiliated with the Association for the Advancement of Wound Care, Healthcare Financial Management Association, and both the American Nurses and the Ohio Nurses Associations. She was active in the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation and the American Diabetes Association, and was a member of Heritage Christian Church in Westerville, OH. She remained faithful to, and was an avid fan of her Alma Mater, The Ohio State University, and cherished time with family and friends. She enjoyed traveling, both for business and for family reunions, walking, and spending time outdoors. She took great pride in organizing parties and family events. She inherited the ability to start conversations with just about anyone from her Grandpa A. R. Walter, and although she never had children of her own, she was delighted to be around young children.
Edith (lovingly known to some as Tede) will be greatly missed by her brother and sister-in-law, Walter and Deb Fetzer of Apple Creek, OH; sister, Miriam Angerer of Westerville, OH; niece and nephews, Naomi (Thomas) Welch, Nathan Fetzer (fiancé Ashley Chenevey), Noah Fetzer, Jon Angerer and Matt Angerer; her favorite aunt, Alice Stoddard of Frewsburg, NY, and several cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents and by her brother-in-law, Tom Angerer.
A private family service is being held with Pastor Robert Fetterhoff officiating. Burial will be at Jackson Cemetery, Creston, OH. Dear Edith's Family,
I am sorry to hear about Edith's passing. She and I were friends throughout our school years, and we graduated together in 1978. I had the most wonderful time with Edith at our last class reunion. I was so happy to sit and chat with her that afternoon. She seemed like she was truly enjoying life.
I will keep you all in my prayers throughout this coming year and in the years to come.
