Dorothy L. Young, 82, of Wooster, died peacefully on Sunday, Oct. 29, 2017 at LifeCare Hospice in Wooster after a lengthy illness.

Dorothy was born Sept. 8, 1935 in Sterling to the late Earl Sr, and Ethel (Stuckey) Studer and was a 1953 graduate of Creston High School.  She married Eldon D. Young on April 14, 1955 and he survives. A resident of Wayne County most of her life, she had worked at Coffey Insurance Agency in Creston and later at Wayne County National Bank.  She was a member of Grace Church in Wooster where she sang in the choir, taught in the Kindergarten Sunday School Class and served as the girls, S.M.M. leader.  Dorothy enjoyed music, sewing and working outdoors.  Family gatherings always brought her great enjoyment and she will be greatly missed.

Surviving are her husband, Eldon of 62 wonderful years; children, Gregory (Tonya) Young of Wooster and Tammy (Curtis) Smith of Shreve; four grandchildren, Bobbi Bryans, Brittany Bryans, Kollin Young and Karcyn Young; a step-granddaughter, Alex Lambert; 6 great-grandchildren and a sister, Mary Herr of Lodi.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother Earl Studer, Jr. and sisters, Mabel Wilson, Ruth Rastorfer and Hazel Maag.

Memorial services will be Saturday, Nov. 4th at 2:00 p.m. at Murray Funeral Home in Creston with Rev. Randy Moomaw officiating.  Friends will be received from 1:00 p.m. until time of services on Saturday.  A private interment services will be held at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.  Memorial contributions may be made to LifeCare Hospice 1900 Akron Rd., Wooster, OH 44619 or to Grace Church, 4599 Burbank Rd., Wooster, OH 44691

The family extends their sincere thanks to the staff of LifeCare Hospice for the wonderful care given to Dorothy and to the ladies from Grace Church for all the meals they supplied during her illness.

Aunt Dorothy was a very special lady.  Always willing to help others.  She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.  My thoughts and prayers go to her family

I remember Dorothy and Eldon Young's families were in our neighborhood in Creston. I was in the CHS Class of 1952  and knew Gerald, Eldons brother.   So sorry for their loss
