Delphia Copley. 90,of Creston, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 25, 2017 at Breen-Field Nursing Center in Orrville after a period of declining health.
Delphia was born March 6, 1927 in Huntington, WV to the late Charles and Nancy (Hutchinson) Bowen and was a graduate of Vinson High School in Huntington. She married Sylvester Copley on Nov. 10, 1945 and he preceded her in death on Oct. 15, 1994. She retired from the Packaging Corp. in Rittman with over 35 years of service and had made her home on a small farm in Creston for over 60 years. Delphia enjoyed working on the farm, gardening, and family history. Her greatest joy was being with her family and she will be greatly missed.
Surviving are her children, Sylvester Silman (Catherine) Copley of Tucson, AZ, Robert L. (Diane) Copley of Creston, Sandra Kay Keener of Newark and Marsha Jean (Daniel) Grossenbacher of Akron; 10 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Bonnie Bowen of West Virginia and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband; a great-grandchild; brother, Charles (Dorothy) Bowen, Nathaniel Bowen, Richard Bowen and Clayton (Don) Bowen and sisters, Mary (Harvey) Runyon, Garnett (Bob) Borders and Ruby Stamper.
Services will be Monday,Oct. 30th at 1:00 p.m. at Murray Funeral Home in Creston with burial following in Creston Maple Mound Cemetery. Friends may call Sunday from 5-7 p.m. and Monday from 12:00 - 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
