David Eugene Metsker, 58, of Wooster, died Tuesday, Oct. 4, 2011 at his home following a sudden illness.

David was born Sept. 27, 1953 in Lodi the son of the late Paul William and Clara Alice (Kane) Metsker and was a 1972 graduate of Norwayne High School. He had made his home on Spink St. in Wooster for the past 17 years and was a member of the Spink St. Committee. He was active in Every Women's House and the Steps Program and volunteered in the Wooster Community having helped with special events, planting trees and cleaning and beautifying the community. He was a member of First Church of God in Wooster and enjoyed singing and reading the Bible.

Surviving are two brothers John Metsker of Denver, CO and Daniel Metsker of Congress; special friend Paul E. Skaggs and his family Freda and Ed Brazis of Homerville, Deb and David Liggins of Wooster and Felice Sparks of Circleville; a special niece Tia as well as other nieces and nephews; dear friends Pam and Tom; his beloved dog Courage and a host of family and friends.

Services will be Saturday at 2:00 p.m. at Murray Funeral Home in Creston with Rev. Arnie Kaufman officiating. Friends may call Saturday from 12:00 until services at 2:00 p.m.
