Callie Mae "Connie" Parker, 77, of Creston, died peacefully Saturday, April 17, 2010 at her home following a lengthy illness.

Services will be Friday at 10:30 a.m. at Murray Funeral Home in Creston with Pastor Deborah Quillen officiating.  Burial will be in Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.  Friends may call Thursday from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.  Those who wish may make contributions to Hospice and Palliative Care of Greater Wayne Co., 2525 Back Orrville Rd., Wooster, OH 44691. 

Connie was born Sept.2, 1932 in Greenville, Miss. the daughter of the late John Coleman an Ruby (Jackson) Dobbins.  She married Jerald D. Parker on Dec. 20, 1951.  Jerry preceded her in death on Nov. 2, 2004.  She had made her home in Creston since 1971 and was active in Creston United Methodist Church, Creston Garden Club, PTA and school activities, the Creston Homecoming and the Meals on Wheels Program.  Her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren and she enjoyed caring for her home and gardening.

Surviving are her daughters and sons-in-law, Stacey and David Aronson of Morris, Minn. and Sarah and Christopher Smith of Rootstown; 4 grandchildren James and Darcey Aronson and Samantha and Cameron Smith; a sister Carol and her husband Billy McCaa of Broken Bow, OK and a brother Billy and his wife Jane Dobbins of Greenville, Miss.

She was preceded in death by her husband, a sister Ruby Lee and brothers Charles, John and Harold Dobbins.
