Charles T. McDaniel
Wooster – On July 19, 2011 at Wooster Community Hospital in a room filled with love and family, Charles T. McDaniel was set free from a period of declining health.
Chuck touched the lives of many with his kindness and willingness to help the less fortunate. He loved his family and friends and served them faithfully and will be greatly missed by all those that had the honor to know him.
He was born on March 17, 1922 in McHenry, KY the son of the late Charlie E. and Stella (Beasley) McDaniel. He attended Western Kentucky University before moving to Ohio and enlisting in the U.S. Navy. He was a WW II Veteran and had served in the Pacific Theater and Okinawa Campaign during the war. On June 27, 1954 he married Wilda Marie Bricker who cared for him with strength, patience and dignity during his life. He retired in 1976 from Timken where he was a recorder and inspector for 30 years. He then went to work at Rubbermaid for 11 years and then at the Ohio Research Center where he worked in Security. He was a member of Parkview Christian Church. During Chuck’s life he was a sports enthusiast and he enjoyed attending his grandchildren’s sporting and school events. He was always learning and researching and loved spending his time at the Library.
Family was always first and he will be always loved by his wife Wilda; his 3 children and their spouses, Phil and Antoinette McDaniel of Rocky River, Tim and April McDaniel of Westerville and Lee and Robert Zerrer of Wooster; his 9 grandchildren, Nina Zerrer, Anthony Zerrer, Amanda Zerrer, Anna Zerrer, Jacob Zerrer, Gisela McDaniel, Drew McDaniel, Ellie McDaniel and Charlie McDaniel; his brother and sister-in-law Harry McDaniel of Wooster and his two sister Peggy Persinger and Bonnie Derkovich both of Wooster and nieces and nephews.
