Charles L. Acord, 83, of Creston went home to be with his Lord, Tuesday, May 4, 2010 at his home following a lengthy illness.

Charles was born March 1, 1927 in Del Barton, W.Va. the son of the late Mike and Hanna (Lockheart) Acord and was the brother of Tom, Ford, Pearl, Texie and Ellie.  He was married to Joyce Ellis for 52 years prior to her death on Sept. 21, 2005.  On Oct. 31, 2006 he married Lillian Smith who survives.  He retired from Crown Fabricators in Wooster and had made his home in Rittman for many years prior to moving to Creston in 2005.  He was a member of Creston United Methodist Church and enjoyed attending flee market and yard sales.  He was a faithful servant for God.

Surviving are his wife Lillian, his special little boy Tiny and a host of family and friends. 

Services will be Friday at 1:30 p.m. at Murray Funeral Home in Creston with Revs. Roger Pimpo and Deb Quillen officiating.  Burial will be in Rittman Cemetery.  Friends may call one hour prior to services on Friday at the funeral home.  Memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Greater Wayne Co., 2525 Back Orrville Rd., Wooster, OH 44691.  A special thanks to the staff at Hospice for their support and care of Charles and to Dr. Katsaros and all who visited Charles during his illness. Your kindness will always be remembered.
