Carlene "Corky" Palmer

Obituary:

Carlene Sue “Corky” Palmer, 58, of Rittman, died Sunday, Jan. 15, 2017 in Columbus after a sudden illness.

Corky was born Dec. 13, 1958 in Wadsworth to the late Carl and Sarah (Polley) Ward and married Henry C. Palmer Jr. on June 3, 2000.  He preceded her in death on Oct. 26, 2016.  She had been the site coordinator for the Meals on Wheels program in Rittman for over 16 years and had made her home in Rittman most of her life.  She was a member of the Rittman Moose Lodge and the Wadsworth Eagles.  Corky enjoyed traveling, camping, riding behind Henry on the Harley and being with friends and family.  Corky was always caring for people and was a wonderful Mom who would try anything when someone said she couldn’t do it.  She will be greatly missed.

Surviving are her children, Adrienne Marshall of Columbus, Nick (Angela) Flock and Zack Flock both of Rittman and Andrew (Ashley) Palmer of Dayton; grandchildren, her new grandson, Dominik and “Sam Cat” brothers and sisters, Ellen Kay Hatten Fringer of Mansfield, Tim J. (Linda) Hatten Sr. of Tennessee, Johnny (Robyn) Ward of Washington, Shari (Melvin) Pack of Rittman and Brett (Kara) Fargo of Wadsworth; sister-in-law, Kelly Woolsey of Wadsworth;  many nieces, nephews and friends and her beloved cats, Siggy and Sookie.

She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, sister, Linda Mae Fargo and brothers, Layne Ward, Daryl Ward and Thomas Fargo.

Services will be Friday at 11:00 a.m. at Murray Funeral Home in Creston with Pastor Isaac Little officiating.  Burial will be at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.  Friends may call Thursday from 4-8 p.m. at the funeral home.  Tributes may be shared at www.Murray-Funeral-Home.com  Memorial contributions may be made to the family in care of the funeral home, 173 S. Main St., Creston, OH 44217.
