Barbara Jeanette Jervis
July 23, 1940 - December 13, 2017
Barbara J. Jervis, 77, of Rittman, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, Dec. 13, 2017 at the Apostolic Christian Home after a period of declining health.
She was born July 23, 1940 in Lodi to the late Douglas and Josephine (George) Decker and married Wallace Jervis on June 23, 1958. He preceded her in death on March 23, 1991. She was a 1958 graduate of Leroy High School and had worked at the Hob Nob Restaurant in Lodi, Gerstenslagers in Wooster and at the Apostolic Home. Barbara enjoyed playing Bingo, going to Indians games and casinos and family gatherings and cookouts. Her grandchildren brought her the greatest joy and she will be missed.
Surviving are her children, Laurie (Joe) McCune of Sterling, Jim (Becky Roudenbush) Jervis of Wadsworth, Debra (Randy) Copley of Burton City, Tim (Loretta) Jervis of Marshallville and Tracey (Doug) Miller of Rittman; 10 grandchildren, Jennifer, Jesse, Casey, Randy, Megan, Felicia, Brandi, Jimmy, Joey and Shania; 15 great-grandchildren; a brother, Leonard (Lucy) Decker and sisters, Bonnie (Ronnie) Knopf, Judy Arters, Jean Perrine and Jane Linden all of Lodi and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, an daughter, Christine Wood, a son, Brian Jervis, an infant son, Michael, a grandson, Jason Jervis and a sister, Becky Benson.
Services will be Saturday, Dec. 16th at 12:00 noon at Murray Funeral Home in Creston with Pastor John Castle officiating. Burial will be in Rittman Cemetery. Friends may call one hour prior to services on Saturday. Tributes may be shared at www.Murray-Funeral-Home.com
