Obituary:

Alda A. "Nana" Starcher, 78, of Orrville, went home to her Father in Heaven and to her husband and love of her life, Junior E. Starcher, on Thursday, Dec. 23, 2010.  She was a resident of West View Manor Nursing Center and battled her lengthy illness with courage, dignity and grace.
Alda was born Dec. 1, 1932 in Gallipolis Ferry, W.Va. the daughter of the late Earl and Mamie (Everett) Morrow and she married Junior E. Starcher on Sept. 23, 1949.  Junior went home to the Lord on Nov. 1, 1986.  Alda was a partner and the secretary for over 40 years for Starcher Drain Services.  She was a disciple of God, showing his love and grace to all those she met.  She was a member of Eastside Mission Church in Delaware, OH. Alda enjoyed spending time with her family and especially her pet parrot, Pepe.  Her grandchildren were her greatest joy and they continued to bring a smile to her face even as she neared the end of her earthly life.  She had a love for cooking, canning, gardening and raising beautiful flowers.  Alda's favorite day out always included a trip to the local Goodwill store and eating at her favorite restaurants, Red Lobster or Hopocan Gardens.  She loved listening to Southern Gospel music and her eyes and heart lit up at the sound of His word being preached from the pulpit.
Alda and Junior have five children; Mamie Munday of Dalton, Luella (Herb) Skeens of Florida, Belva (Kenny) Kidd of West Virginia, Keith (Melanie) Starcher of Orrville and Diane (Mike) Mohler of Coshocton.  A daughter Nada Ilene died at birth.  She was Grandmother and Nana to 11 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren who will forever love and remember her for  her generous heart and spirit and her enthusiastic love of the Lord.  She is the loving sister of Loretta (Jim) Jaccaud of Delaware, Margaret (Norm) Wolfron of Arizona, Roy (Judy) Morrow of Delaware and Jim (Sandy) Morrow of Delaware.  A brother Otis (Marie) Morrow and a sister Reba (Paul) Bonecutter preceded her in death as well as infant twin sisters Pauline and Auline.
Alda will be honored and remembered in a service on Monday, Dec. 27th at 11:00 a.m. at Murray Funeral Home in Creston with Andy Freeman officiating.  She will be laid to rest next to her beloved husband Junior at Creston Maple Mound Cemetery.  Friends and family may call Sunday, Dec. 26th from 2-4 p.m. at the funeral home and one hour prior to services on Monday.  Tributes may be sent to www.Murray-Funeral-Home.com
The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude and appreciation to the staff at West View Manor and Hospice for their gentle and loving hands over the course of Alda's declining health.  Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice and Palliative of Greater Wayne Co. or to West View Manor Nursing Center in Wooster.
